Low Carbon Innovation Fund recognised by Beauhurst - 30th May 2018
The Low Carbon Innovation Fund has been recognised by Beauhurst as the 5th most active investor in the UK Cleantech sector, coming in closely behind 4 key players in the industry. The Fund has been involved in over 90 investment rounds in the 2011 to 2018 period and is the only University based Fund in the top 10. Innovate UK have announced the second phase of their Women in Innovation Awards which will launch later this year. The programme will consist of a funding competition and support package to encourage more female-led innovation.

Congratulations to LCIF investee company Enlight who have won the EDP Business Awards Enviro-technologies award. The company design and manufactures street lights and technology for lighting infrastructure which monitor environmental conditions and upload the data through a wireless platform. Investee company Sundried has been shortlisted for the Business Green - Green Leaders awards in two categories. CEO Daniel Puddick has been shortlisted in the Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the company has been shortlisted for Small Business of the Year. The awards take place on 28th June.

Tinizine Awards Success - 10th November 2016
LCIF investee Tinizine have had a string of award successes in the last month. They won Innovation of the Year at the British Small Business Awards, Start up Business of the Year at the Altrincham and Sale Chamber Awards, and to top it all off have been nominated for a Children's BAFTA for their online series "Search It Up!" which teaches online safety.

Final Evaluation Report of Cycle One of the Fund
As of 31st December 2015, LCIF has invested its initial tranche of funds from the ERDF and is currently preparing to start investing again later in January 2017. As part of the assessment of the effectiveness of LCIF, Educe Ltd. prepared a Final Evaluation Report setting out; LCIF's Investment Performance, LCIF's Impact on SMEs, jobs and innovation, LCIF's added value, Lessons learnt and Recommendations.
